EVENTS AT CAMDEN

There are three events held every year. A Spring tactical, which is usually held in late April or Early May, and a Fall tactical which is usually held in late October or early November. The final event of the year is an Eastern Front event. It is held in either February or March. This event is only open to German and Russian impressions.

The events are held at the Woodland Trails Boy Scout Reservation in Camden, Ohio. Woodland Trails is a great place to play! The Scouts are exceptional hosts. There have been reenactments on the grounds just about every year since 1981. Our events are held on approximately 200 acres of rolling hills. There are many trails and primitive campsites located throughout the area. All of these campsites are connected by a road network that crosses the entire camp. This makes period style camping very easy. "Camping under canvas" is a great way to further enjoy the living history aspect of our hobby. There is a barracks style building that can be used for inclement weather. This area is also great for vendors. Vendors are always welcome at any CSC event. Please contact the webmaster with any questions you may have about vending.

The camp is very vehicle friendly. The road network not only provides easy access to the campsites but also plays into most of the scenarios. There is even an abandoned county road that runs through the camp. On this road is a series of small bridges that make for great scenario objectives. Every event has its share of Allied and Axis soft skinned vehicles. You may even get to see the occasional armored car or half track.

Ohio is very friendly to NFA weapons. Feel free to bring your legally registered class III weapon to Camden. Please note that ALL NFA rules apply at EVERY Camden event.

CAMDEN, OHIO
CONTACT: Tim Ellifritt - ursus529kirby1@juno.com

Scenario will be northwest Europe in the fall of 1944. We will be using a sealed order system as we have in the past. There will be three two-hour scenarios. You must be 18 years of age to participate at Camden. Our insurance requires this as does the Boy Scouts of America, who own the property. All participants must register and pay the battle fee of $20 (cash only). If you want to stay in the old mess hall there will be a $5 fee. Camping out is encouraged. There are outdoor toilets but there may not be any water, so bring water and TP. There will not be any food served, so plan on that.

Rules of engagement and general safety rules will appear on the battle pass you receive when you pay (it will also serve as your receipt that you have paid). You must have this pass with you at the Saturday S & A inspection. Per BSA rules there will be no alcohol on the property, period. You get caught, you're gone.

The Preble County Sheriff has waived the NFA notification. Address for ATF is: Woodland Trails Boy Scout Reservation 265 Gasper-Sommers Road, Camden, Preble County, Ohio 45311

THE 2008 FALL FLEA MARKET

October 25, 2008
CAMDEN, OHIO
CONTACT: Tim Ellifritt - ursus529kirby1@juno.com

All reenactors are invited to bring any WWII-era items suitable for reenacting use to sell in the Old Mess Hall. All items should have a tag describing and identifying the item along with the owner's name and the firm price on the item. A Camden Committee member will be present to monitor sales, collect money from buyers for sellers, and provide security during the day Saturday. The Camden Committee accepts no liability for lost or stolen goods but if the rules are followed the risk should be minimal. There will be no charge to buyers or sellers for this service.
